Superhost can place and receive voice calls right in the app, so you can reach a guest or a teammate without leaving the conversation. Calling works on the mobile app.

Make a call

The dialer opens from the phone button at the top of the Chats tab, next to the segment switcher.
1

Open the dialer

On the Chats tab, tap the phone button. The Place a call sheet slides up.
2

Choose who to call

Either enter a number under Phone number, or use Search to find an existing guest or staff member by name or number and pick them from the list.
3

Place the call

Tap Call to dial. To reach the number over a WhatsApp voice call instead, tap WhatsApp.
Tapping someone in the Search results opens their chat rather than dialling straight away — handy when you’d rather send a message or check the thread first. Use the Phone number field with Call or WhatsApp when you want to place the call directly.
If a guest hasn’t agreed to a WhatsApp call yet, tap Request call permission (WhatsApp) to send them a request first.
The dialer’s phone button only appears for roles that can reply to guests, since starting a guest call is its main job. If you don’t see it, a property Manager can check your access under Roles & permissions.

Answer an incoming call

When a call comes in, Superhost shows a full-screen incoming-call screen. For a guest call it labels the call Incoming · Phone or Incoming · WhatsApp, and shows the caller’s name (or Unknown caller), their number, and the property. For a guest with a current reservation, it also shows their room and reservation status.
1

Accept

Tap Accept to answer.
2

Decline

Tap Decline to reject the call.

Internal calls from a teammate

When the call comes from someone on your team, you get a dedicated Incoming · Internal screen instead. It shows the teammate’s name and your property — no guest, room, or reservation, since the call is between staff. Accept and decline work the same way.

During a call

Once a call connects, the active-call screen shows who you’re talking to, their number, the property, and a running call timer. Along the bottom are the controls:
  • Mute / Unmute — silence or re-enable your microphone.
  • Speaker on / Speaker off — switch the audio to speakerphone.
  • Transfer — hand the call to another teammate.
  • Hang up — end the call.
Tap the chevron at the top left (Minimise call) to shrink the call to a slim bar so you can keep using the app. The bar isn’t just a tappable strip back to the full screen — it keeps the running call timer and live Mute, Speaker, and Hang up controls right there, so you can manage the call without reopening it. Tap the caller’s name on the bar to bring the full screen back. The call screen closes on its own when the call ends.

Calls in a team chat

In a one-to-one team chat, calls between you and a teammate show up as inline call pills in the thread, so the conversation and its calls stay together. A pill updates itself as the call progresses:
  • Calling… / Incoming call… while it’s ringing.
  • Ongoing call with a running timer once it connects.
  • Call · 0:34 once it ends, showing how long it lasted.
  • Missed call if it went unanswered.
Tap a missed or incoming call pill to call that teammate straight back.
